I apologize! This piece seemed seamless and I didn’t know Odel was collaborating. I am very sorry, Odel! Thank you so much for this electrifying piece in conjunction with Bear Safe!

Hey 👋, honestly there is nothing to apologize for. Although I just came with an idea, the work is completely Bear Sage’s. I just had the honor to share it into The Mirror Room.

And we’re glad you liked it 😊

This is an electric piece which is very moving and earth shattering at the same time, interwoven with Love. I believe it is physical and high emotional at the same time. What happens when you are amid the storm? And when it’s over? I think we all know. But some of us want to keep this going, right?

Thank you so much Jacqueline, I'm so glad you enjoyed this 🫶. It's both deliquite and intimate with fury and thunder 🔥🔥

What I admire here is how the poem refuses the usual romantic collapse into the storm. Passion arrives with all its voltage: lightning, thunder, rain, but the speaker does something rarer: they ground themselves.

The image of the fulgurite is striking. Lightning touches earth and leaves behind a glass memory of the strike; a beautiful metaphor for how love can transform without needing to destroy.

And that quiet pivot, knowing my own name in the morning” feels like the philosophical center of the piece. Passion is welcomed, even desired, but identity is not surrendered to it.

By the end, the poem holds a powerful duality: to be both the storm and the stake. Rooted enough to remain, electric enough to feel alive.

Thank you Dipti, I love the multifaceted aspects of how this poem came out.

The wordplay with stake is also intriguing .... As I wrote this poem the initial thought was what's at stake.

Love is risk

Absolutely, Bear Sage, “what’s at stake” becomes more than risk; it becomes a mirror of self. The poem doesn’t just explore love, it measures the courage it takes to stay rooted while letting the storm run through you.

Thank you Dipti for your depth review. Bear Sage really did a great job, presenting love that way. The storm and the stake.

Exactly Odel, what lingers for me is that tension: feeling the full surge of the storm without letting it erase who you are. Bear Sage captures that rare balance beautifully: alive to passion, grounded in self.
